Marsden Park Elara: Update on New Marsden Park Public School

Concept designs for the new Marsden Park Public School have been released, as the NSW Education Department forecasts a rise of student enrolments by 2573 students in the Marsden Park Elara region by 2031.

The project team is working closely with the stakeholders to guide the design. The design has been endorsed, and schematic diagrams have commenced.

The brand new $55 million school, which is on Northbourne Drive, will accommodate 1000 students – or 38 % on the region’s total student population – in line with the development application submitted to the STATE. The proposal said the “future-focused school” would form part of the larger Marsden Park Elara estate.
The institution will include a communal hall, canteen, library, offices and classrooms, and a group of covered outdoor learning spaces and a particular education unit.

“The necessity for public school facilities within Marsden Park is vital to meet up with the educational needs of the new community and its surrounds. The suggested new school provides residents with high-quality educations facilities in the right location with adjoining complementary community facilities and usable space.”

Building is expected to finish in early 2021.

Alternative: St Luke Catholic College, Marsden Park Elara – the school of tomorrow

The school is one of the first in Western Sydney to run with a 6 am to 6 pm timing, five days a week. It has been designed to involve the community and businesses in Marsden Park Elara.

“It will progress young people from early learning to Year 12 and beyond, through a developmental and student-centred approach to learning with a focus on ‘learning how to learn’,” says principal Greg Miller.

It will open from 6 am to 6 pm to cater to the busy lifestyles of families in the surrounding areas, negating the need to worry about before and aftercare.
